What the Signal Health Scorecard Actually Measures

By Affan Siddiqi, Founder, Psycomaths

The Signal Health Scorecard checks and scores Pixel setup, Conversions API configuration, event match quality, and conversion event accuracy directly, rather than assuming tracking is working simply because the account hasn't shown an obvious problem yet. Most accounts only investigate signal health after performance has already dropped, which means real tracking gaps often go unnoticed for weeks or months before they're ever caught.

Pixel setup is checked for completeness, not just presence

A Pixel being technically installed doesn't mean it's firing correctly on every key page or event. The scorecard checks whether it's actually capturing the full set of events (page view, add to cart, purchase) it should be, not just whether the base code exists somewhere on the site.

Conversions API configuration closes gaps browser tracking alone can't

Since browser-based Pixel tracking alone misses a meaningful share of real conversions due to privacy restrictions, the scorecard checks whether Conversions API is properly configured to recover that gap server-side, since a Pixel-only setup is structurally incomplete regardless of how well it's installed.

Event match quality score reveals how well Meta can actually attribute a conversion

Meta's own event match quality score reflects how confidently a given conversion event can be matched to a real person, and a low score means attribution is weaker even when the event itself fired correctly. The scorecard treats this as a direct, checkable metric rather than an assumption.

The score gives a concrete baseline, not just a pass or fail

Rather than a simple yes-or-no on whether tracking works, scoring signal health across these specific checks gives a concrete baseline to track over time and a clear basis for prioritizing which tracking gap to fix first, rather than treating signal health as an all-or-nothing state.
